Ginkgo BioWorks is focused on improving biology as a substrate for engineering. We develop standards, biological parts, and technologies that allow for reliable, rapid prototyping of engineered biological systems.
We bring a unique perspective to our consulting and contract research efforts as well as our in-house projects. We strive to introduce engineering principles such as standardization and abstraction into the design and construction of synthetic biological systems and are excited to transition biological engineering from a craft to a reliable, scalable engineering discipline.
