BioBrick™ Assembly Kit
New England BioLabs
Ginkgo and NEB developed the BioBrick™ Assembly Kit, a new product offering in the synthetic biology tools space.
The BioBrick™ Assembly Kit is the first commercial product to support an open standard in biotechnology.
Leveraging our extensive experience in DNA assembly, Ginkgo wrote a step-by-step kit manual to accompany the new product.
Ginkgo also provides expert technical support for customers using the product.
You can purchase the kit directly from NEB.
Strategic consulting
Large chemical company
Ginkgo worked with a large chemical company to map the synthetic biology technology landscape and to plan their business strategy in the space.
We wrote a detailed report on the results and presented it to their executive team.
Custom DNA assembly
Academic labs at Harvard, MIT, Stanford and more
Ginkgo has provided custom DNA construction and design support for a number of academic labs. Using our BrickLayer DNA assembly pipeline, we
constructed a custom 30kb construct made up of 15 standard parts. We also built constructs
and aided in design for a new reporter of gene expression.
Eau d'E coli
2006 iGEM competition
The design project that started it all. Back in our MIT days, we mentored the
MIT 2006 iGEM team
that engineered bacteria to smell like mint and bananas, launching the field of bananotechnology.
Parts catalog redesign
MIT Registry of Standard Biological Parts
Ginkgo helped to redesign the MIT Parts Registry to allow easier browsing
of the available parts and devices. You can now browse a catalog of parts
and devices by type, by function, by chassis and by standard.
