Today, we’re thrilled to announce our collaboration with Foremost Farms USA!
Foremost Farms has selected Ginkgo as its partner of choice to develop a new upcycling technology for dairy manufacturing co-products. Today, the dairy industry produces low-value co-products that contribute to its overall carbon footprint. Ginkgo aims to help Foremost build a technology to reduce this footprint by upcycling the low-value co-products.
Commercializing this upcycling technology could turn these co-products into environmentally friendly, value-added materials. In addition to reducing the dairy industry’s carbon footprint, this technology could also be used to help lower manufacturing costs and create a significant new revenue stream for hundreds of dairy farmers in Foremost’s cooperative.
Foremost will leverage Ginkgo’s bioproduction services to develop and commercialize this new technology, which could help upcycle billions of pounds of dairy co-products each year. Ginkgo’s market-leading metabolic engineering and analytical capabilities will be relied upon to advance the project.
